2026 F2 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATIO - Added 27/05/26

MILDENHALL STADIUM – 6th & 7th JUNE

The booking window for the 2026 BriSCA F2 European Championship is now open. Bookings can be made online via www.spedeworthtickets.co.uk or by calling 01252 322920. Booking priority will be given to drivers who have supported our events so far this season.

The deadline for bookings is next Tuesday, 2nd June, at 5.00 pm.

Nevertheless, drivers are encouraged to book early as it may be necessary to impose a limit on the number of cars we are able to accommodate.

In addition to the European Championship, the meeting on Sunday 7th June is a round of the National Points Series championship. Points scored in the European Championship race itself WILL count towards a driver’s National Points Series total.

European Championship Eligibility
In accordance with the BriSCA F2 regulations, the following criteria will be used to determine the qualifying drivers for the European Championship race on the Sunday.

• The line-up for the BriSCA Formula 2 European Championship will consist of the top national grading-points scorers on the June grading list who have booked to race before the deadline date of Tuesday 2nd June at 5.00 pm
• From the remaining drivers, the top points-scorers from Saturday evening’s racing will join the seeded drivers
• Seeded and points-qualifying drivers will be joined on the grid by overseas drivers who have booked to race
• Should there be more overseas drivers booked than there are places available on the grid, the current Dutch and/or Northern Irish grading lists will be used to determine priority
• Any overseas drivers who miss the cut and are not seeded directly to the championship race will have the opportunity to qualify by being among the top points-scorers from Saturday evening’s racing

Precise details of the number of drivers eligible for the race will be made available nearer the date but in the meantime, if you want to be part of the European weekend, apply for your booking now.

Grid Formation
Drivers are reminded that the criteria for deciding the formation of the European Championship race grid have changed for 2026. The salient points are listed below…

The Headlines:
• Sunday's championship race sees the sport’s seeded top drivers race against Saturday's top scorers
• Top drivers are no longer just relying on being seeded into the big race, they’ll be counting on all-important points from Saturday’s session too
• The infamous Sunday morning draw remains… with a twist!
• More to play for, and more competitive action on the Saturday!

Qualifying Procedure
The qualification procedure remains unaltered…
• Minimum of 16 UK seeds from the top of the UK grading list in force at the time of the event
• Overseas seeded drivers… (i) Northern Ireland, and (ii) Mainland Europe
• Minimum of 6 highest points-scorers (any nationality), not already seeded in to the event, from the Saturday meeting, up to and including the meeting Final

European Championship Grid Formation

The European Championship grid will be formed by a combination score for each qualified driver, combining points from Saturday’s meeting with a random draw element.

Part 1: Fast and furious battle for points... Saturday
• This will be a driver’s points total from the Saturday meeting, up to and including the meeting Final, using the standard points for the meeting format employed

Part 2: The luck of the draw... Sunday
• This will be a random draw bonus-points number, starting at 1, up to the number of cars qualified to participate in the race, e.g. 1 to 36 for a 36-car grid

The Grid: Based on a combined score
• A driver’s combined score will be the sum of the two elements above. E.g. if a driver scores 17 points on Saturday night, and draws no. 22, then they will end up with a combined score of 17 + 22 = 39
• The grid will be formed in Combined Score order, the highest Combined Score taking the pole position, and the lowest being at the rear of the field
• A seeded driver who does not score on Saturday night will simply rely on the luck of the bonus-points draw to determine their grid position

The all-important draw for the race will be held at the track at 10 am on the Sunday but a reminder to drivers that they MUST be present for the draw in person. A driver cannot send a proxy in the form of son, daughter, spouse, grandmother or any other member of their team. If a driver is not present for the draw their grid position will be determined solely by their Saturday night score.

See you there!
