Welcome to Great Yarmouth Stadium for live updates from tonight's meeting, featuring Superstox, Historic Stock Cars, Rookie Rods and Rebels.
Rebels
Heat 1 - 170 Craig Thompson, 156, 656, 9, 470, 270, 467, 30, 263, 81.
19 Rebels on a very wet track following a hail storm earlier! White grade 270 James Watson led until half distance, but he couldn't repeat his opening race win from Ipswich last night and it was National Champion 170 who took the flag.
Heat 2 - 385 Steve Thompson, 656, 156, 9, 467, 170, 35, 81, 589, 263.
467 Steve Kime leads for a while before brother of first race winner 385 Steve Thompson takes it up. A yellow flag closes them up which leaves Thompson to fend off a strong challenge from both the Joyces for the last few laps which he does! So can it be a Thompson clean sweep come the final ??
Final - 156 James Joyce, 170 James Watson, 656 Adam Joyce, 385, 470, 35, 30, 9, 41, 467.
The Rebels points system from tonight sees 170 on pole for the Final with the Joyce duo behind. 385 gets past 656 but then finds the fence as World Master champion 156 goes into the lead after 170 goes a bit off line. It's a Joyce 1st and 3rd with ex National Hot Rod man 170 filling second spot, James Joyce completing a final double after taking the final at Foxhall last night too!
Historic Stock Cars
Heat 1 - 71 Alec Savage, 8, 33, 499, 53, 199, 212, 217, 192, 81.
17 cars for the Historics 1st race including a smart new Triumph for 212 Lee Cowley, and it's a Triumph top three with 71 Alec Savage making the most of his white grading to take the flag.
Heat 2 - 71 Alec Savage, 8, 780, 217, 499, 33, 314, 199, 192, 146.
Even a promotion to the yellow grade for heat 2 doesn't stop 71 getting to the front in under a lap! And he opens up a considerable half lap lead with the track drying out now - he looks in a class of his own as the hat-trick beckons!
Final - 33 Gary Madgwick, 71 Alec Savage, 780 Chris Berry, 396, 314, 499, 199, 27, 192, 53.
With 71 now in the blues the chase began to catch the magnette of 499 Nick Dellar, however 33 Gary Madgwick kept with 71 and once past 499 it was Madgwick who went clear and onto the win.
Superstox
Heat 1 - 233 Ben Munford, 51, 7, 612, 17, 376, 4, 176, 482, 167.
A good grid of 20 Superstox including new driver 24 Ben Styles electing to start from the back, 69 Shaun Brooker went out on the first lap with a snapped throttle cable, then the yellows came out to retrieve 163 Tom Naughton from the Caister end fence! 233 had built a good lead and with 6 back markers between him and the 2nd place driver he went on to take the win
Heat 2 - 612 Garry Sparkes, 204, 4, 114, 176, 186, 233, 161, 167, 51.
204 Carl Pye looks comfortable at the head of the pack, 163 goes in hard again this time at the other end of the circuit, meanwhile the one time king of Caister 612 puts the pressure on Pye forcing him off line onto the greasy outside of the track, Pye gets back on him but Sparkes just manages to hold on!
Final - 69 Shaun Brooker, 204 Carl Pye, 186 Todd Jones, 17, 233, 4, 483, 540, 167, 51.
A big crash at the start of the Final when 279 Phil Proctor launches 114 Eddie Edmonds with 4 Liam Lambert collecting the 279 car, 483 Sarah Cooper and 612 Sparkes also getting caught up resulting in red flags, 279 needing some attention but gets out unaided - a quarter of the field on the infield for the restart. 7 Glenn Salmon puts 376 Steven Jackson in on the pits bend with 376 losing his bumper, 482 Jason Cooper joins the list of retirements when in third, allowing 69 Brooker to put pressure on long time leader 204 Pye, 69 takes over and had a scare when backmarker 24 went spinning in front of him but he held on to the win!
Rookie Rods
Heat 1 - 127 Simon England, 650 George Fitkin, 550 Terry Hannant, 231, 326, 646, 238, 245, 315, NOF.
12 Rookie Rods for their late scheduled outing, 127 and 550 Terry Hannant having a good tussle for the lead, with 127 pulling clear and wins with 650 passing 550 round the outside on the very last turn for second place.
Heat 2 - 550 Terry Hannant, 348, 238, 687, 646, 231, 326, 650, 315, 245.
550 roars into the lead, his prospects of victory made easier when first race winner 127 retires with engine troubles. His brother 348 Danny England takes up the challenge but 550 ends up winning by over half a lap - that's 3 wins in 3 meetings for the son of Stock Rod star of the past Bobby Hannant!
Final - 326 Ed Kennet, 348 Danny England, 650 George Fitkin, 231, 646, 687, 127, 315, 96, NOF.
A very close Rookie Rod Final to end the night, 348 surviving massive pressure from 550 who eventually gets disqualified for contact, but its top of the points 326 Ed Kennet who comes through to take the flag in the dying stages of the race.
