Hello and a very warm welcome to Arlington Stadium for the second of our Wednesday night events of 2012. The weather is glorious with the sun breaking through the trees in the pits as the cars come in. The Historic Stock Cars are here in great numbers with a fully booked grid of 30 cars. The Bangers are back - this time in the first round of the 2012 DB Mechanical Services Southern Championship. The third formula on show are the ever popular Stock Rods who are also here on good numbers for some fun in the sun as they compete in the latest round of the 2012 Polleysport/Yokohama Tyre Series!
Stay up to date right here with Spedeworth Motorsports!

Heat One
334 Chris Olding, 510, 157, 14, 523, 780, 187, 700, 173, 414.
The race was barely underway when a big pile up on turn 4 left the 59 Emerson car looking worse for wear. From the restart, there was action e everywhere with the bumpers being used to good effect. Chris Olding takes the first win of the evening.
Heat Two
Dead Heat 368 Robert Rice & 510 Gordon Coull, 245, 780, 334, 199, 414, 523, 157, 8.
A cracking race with the second photo finish of the evening! This time the drivers couldn't be split so 368 & 510 share the glory!

Stock Rods
Heat One
110 Kevin Wareham, 417, 168, 187, 745, 28, 251, 257, 300, NOF.
A good win for Wareham who looks to have his new Corsa well on the pace now after some teething troubles. A number of drivers fell foul of the Steward for contact in a race that saw only nine finishers!
Heat Two
745 Daniel Bennett, 251, 300, 447, 168, 560, 151, 28, 417, 326.
A good win for Bennett who overtook long-time leader and Heat One winner Wareham after the 110 driver received a black flag while leading! 7 cars crossed the line nose to tail to highlight just how competitive this formula is!
Final
187 Ted Symes, 257 Ashley Brown, 110 Kevin Wareham, 300, 326, 168, 447, 560, 28, 128.
A fast and furious race with Ted Symes taking advantage of his yelkow grade start to chalk up another victory to go with his recent Ipswich win. Some great racing from the Stock Rods at the tight and tricky Arlington venue.
Bangers
Heat One
51 Harry Balchin, 106, 426, 389, 556, 450, 718, 271, 717, 228.
As always, an action packed race with plenty of cars spinning out all over the track. After a stoppage to retrieve errant marker tyres, the action continued and featured a 4 car pile up under the scoreboard! A photo finish saw 51 Harry Balchin and 106 Darren Terry cross the line inches apart with 51 getting the nod and the trophy!
Heat Two
558 Rob Haines, 198, 450, 482, 717, NOF.
A race of attrition saw Rob Haines take another win in what has been a cracking 2012 for him so far.
Final
106 Darren Terry, 271 James Vockins, 51 Harry Balchin, 556, 228, 450, NOF.
A highly entertaining race - the highlight of which was a coming together between 426 Pope and 535 Ryan Cunningham which was then joined in by Pope's team-mate 556 Hampton. Darren Terry takes the win to round off a good evening's entertainment.
