HISTORY WILL BE MADE!
For the first time ever, the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars World Championship Semi Final comes to Hednesford Hills Raceway, and you don't want to miss it!
Next Sunday is the first time that the BriSCA F1 Semi has been staged at the venue. There have been four World Finals here, 1988, 1991, 1995 & 2001 with the winners being John Lund (twice), Keith Chambers and Rob Speak. The 1991 event was arguably one of the best finishes to a WF race ever, although Bert Finnikin and Peter Falding may not agree.
The Consolation Semi-Final has been here twice, firstly in 1988 which was the first ever staging of the race and was won by Nigel Whorton. The second occasion was 2003 when Frankie Wainman Jnr took the flag.
The Semi-Finals themselves have been around since 1965, that means 116 Semi’s have been run at 28 different tracks. Skegness has staged more than anyone else with fourteen followed by Long Eaton and Sheffield with ten each. Nine tracks have each staged just one.
Leading winner of Semis is Frankie Wainman Jnr - who starts on the front row of this event - with fourteen victories followed by Andrew Smith with ten. Wille Harrison and Stuart Smith come next with six each.
More information will be available in the coming days, but next Sunday all roads certainly lead to Staffordshire's Hednesford Hills Raceway for a day packed to the brim with pure Stock Car racing!
