We at Spedeworth / Incarace are sad to report the passing of another of our two former stars from our community in the loss of former Spedeworth Drivers #6 / #16 Rob Newbon and #309 Dave ‘Henry’ Lane, another two men who made massive contributions to their chosen Formulas.
Rob first came to Spedeworth as a youngster in the Ministox Formula and eventually graduated onto what was then 1600/2Ltr Hot Rods where success soon came his way also.
Dave Lane for many years was one of Spedeworth’s top Banger stars and led the East Anglian battles for many years. Again, one of the nicest people you could meet, he was highly respected by anyone who traded paint with him and was a hero of the East Anglian Banger fraternity.
Even after their respective retirements from racing a good few years back now, both men were still very popular characters when seen around the Raceways.
Again the world has lost two great men before their time, our sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to the Newbon and Lane Families, and many, many friends and fans at this very sad time.
