At Hednesford Hills Raceway on Sunday 16th January the southern army came out victorious to bring the score back level as both sides battle hard at the event to secure the win.
I would like to thank everyone for their help and support in making yesterday so successful. There are too many people to name who help make this event what it is behind the scenes and on the day but you all know who you are and again thank you!
Despite the set backs with the northern army prior to the event both army generals (Paul and Stu) worked tirelessly to field a good group of driver in both the Light Brigade and Infantry classes to still produce a Civil War that in its uniqueness will still go down in history for all the right reasons.
Thank you to all of the race fans who came to support the Civil War and cheer on your team! A special thank you must also go out to all of the race fans who arrived after the raceway car parks were full who then used the extra parking facilities provided at Hednesford Town FC, Kingsmead School, Anglesey Street and Brunswick Street Car Parks then used the park and ride service provided by P&D York Coach Travel. Using these car parks and not blocking the local roads has helped the raceway’s reputation with the local residents and that only helps the future of the raceway so thank you to all of you.
Another thank you must go out to Hednesford Town FC, Kingsmead School, P&D York Coach Travel, Sunbelt Rentals and both Cannock & Staffordshire Councils for their support of the raceway and the new traffic management plan.
Finally, thank you to all the drivers who came and raced and repaired for their respective teams! Whether your team won or lost without you all there would be no Civil War! Considering there was such negative feel about the event I wouldn’t have thought anybody left disappointed.
So, that’s it. Another year done and another war won.
Roll on Civil War 23!
