It is with great sadness that we received the news of the passing of Ray Wood yesterday evening.

Ray was a much loved and respected member of the short oval motorsport world and worked for Spedeworth for more years than could be counted and when Ray retired he continued to help at many events even upto this years Spedeweekend where he helped with the administration of the event plus presenting the qualifiers awards for the National Hot Rod World Championship.

Ray had a second hobby and was a volunteer at the Mid-Hants Railway known to many as the Watercress Line where just like at Spedeworth he took on many job roles and assisted where needed to get the job done.

Ray will be missed in more ways than words can say.
