It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the very sad passing of Brian Portsmouth.
Brian was a scrutineer at Hednesford Hills Raceway for many years and continued to do the job until ill health prevented him from doing so last year.
Many drivers, staff and race fans who have visited Hednesford Hills Raceway over the years will all have stories to tell of their dealings with Brian.
Always kind, always caring and always willing to give his time especially to the upcoming and new drivers and guide them in the right direction.
Alongside Hednesford Hills Raceway, Brian was one of the main characters involved with the Wolverhampton Car Project which back in the day used to help youngsters and educate them in car mechanics which used to see many of Brian apprentices racing the cars they had built at Hednesford.
You never saw Brian without a smile on his face and we all know he’ll still be watching from above smiling at the antics going on and thinking “they’ve done it that way again!”
Our condolences to Brians wife Gloria who has supported Brian throughout the years and the rest of Brians family during this difficult time.
Thank you for everything Brian.
Gone but will never be forgotten.
