What a weekend in prospect across the Spedeworth/Incarace ovals, with no less than 8 oval racing events to entertain across the country in what is always a busy weekend.
Starting on Good Friday - and as tradition dictates it’s the annual teams event at Mildenhall Stadium, with the West Row venue playing host to a fully booked entry of drivers hoping to come away with glory, with racing also coming from the BriSCA F2 Stock Cars, fresh from a fantastic event at Northampton Shaleway last week.
Speaking of Northampton, and it’s the Brafield venue where the Banger World Series is heading this Bank Holiday. A full entry list sees over 120 Unlimited CC cars set to descend on the venue, with that all important World Final grid spot up for grabs as well as points for the highly contested Entertainer’s League on offer. Racing also comes from the all-action 1300cc Stock Cars and the UK Barn Find Historic Stock Cars for a full contact day of racing at the ever-developing Northamptonshire venue.
Easter Sunday also sees action at Aldershot Raceway - with a high-speed history lesson coming from the Classic Hot Rods as well as the 'Back To Basics' Bangers Micro Mayhem and the stars of oval racing in the future with another fantastic entry of Bone Builders Ninja Karts and the Junior Bangers. Yarmouth Stadium hosts "Easter Eggstravaganza" for the Back to Basic Bangers as well as the Bone Builders Junior Micra Stock Cars and Front-Wheel Drive Hot Rods.
What about Easter Monday? It’s finally time for the National Hot Rods to head home to Hednesford Hills Raceway alongside the 2.0 Hot Rods - the latter competing for the 2024 Midland Championship - both classes are always spectacular to watch at full throttle around the Staffordshire 1/4 miler, with wheel-to-wheel racing making for great viewing. It also wouldn’t be a Hednesford Bank Holiday without some bangers and crash, and the Bangers 2024 British Championship will definitely be one to watch for action.
Arlington Stadium, Eastbourne is also ready for the green flag on Easter Monday - with the Back to Basic Bangers, Stock Rods and Super Twos taking to the tight concrete oval.
Heading to East Anglia and it’s Foxhall Stadium, Ipswich which will come alive with engine noise - don’t miss the Superstox at the venue as the open wheelers contest the next Hoosier Tire round as well as spinning and sliding from the Back to Basic Bangers and the Rookie Rods. Completing the lineup it’s the Rebel Racers in their 2024 World Masters title - an event which features a ‘who’s who’ of the formula’s history on its roll of honour.
Staying on the East Coast - and completing a packed run of Easter events - it’s Yarmouth Stadium’s first Thursday night special of 2024, and what a start it’s going to be. School’s out for the 1ltr Hot Rods and they will be out for glory alongside the Bangers in a World Qualifier and finishing with the infamous Caravan Figure of 8 Destruction Derby.
What a busy few days in prospect, we wish everyone a happy Easter and hope to see you at the tracks at one - or more - points this weekend.
Let’s go racing!!
