Important note to all Mini Sprint and Ninja Kart Drivers and Parents:

As you are aware we (Spedeworth / RTS / Skegness Stadium) have strived over a number of years to produce a safe controlled entry level formula for both parents and their children to enjoy, to that end the formula is now at a national level to include Skegness Stadium, HRP in Scotland and Tullyroan Oval in N Ireland.

During the early part of 2013, Swaffham Raceway approached the RTS with a view to securing some dates for the Mini Sprint formula, given Skegness Stadium‘s proximity to Swaffham, two potential dates were identified and needed to be clarified by the ORCi, but before matters could be put to the ORCi, Swaffham Raceway advertised they intended to run their own Mini Sprints / Ninja Kart formula.

We sent the letter below from the RTS in response to such advertising by Swaffham Raceway.

The current position is, should any Spedeworth Ninja Kart or RTS Mini Sprint registered driver race at venues that have not had prior approval irrespective of what the formula is now called, such drivers may be subject to sanctions by either promotion. To partake in such events you would need prior approval, in this instance none has been sought or been given.

We are sorry to have to deal with matters in this way, but as you will see from the contents of the RTS letter to Swaffham the door was open for them to make the necessary application, but for their own reasons they have chosen not to do so.

This statement is issued jointly by Spedeworth / RTS / Skegness Stadium.

Re; Ninja Karts / Mini Sprints
As you know, it has been brought to my attention that you intend to run Ninja Karts / Mini Sprints and run the same spec and rules as both Spedeworth and the RTS.

That position caused me a problem and I will outline it to you so there can be no misunderstanding of the position.

The copyright to the Ninja Karts / Mini Sprints is held jointly by Spedeworth and the RTS, and any downloading or copying of its rules and regulations is a direct infringement of that copy right, the commercial law is strict on that point, the copyright is owned by the authors.

You will note both Ireland and Scotland run under the Spedeworth banner and Skegness run under the RTS banner as is the agreement, should you wish to run under either you must do so through the correct channels.

That is not to say you cannot do your own thing, which you can, but you must not infringe the copy right that is held by both Spedeworth and the RTS without their expressed permission, which at this stage is not given.

Just thought I would bring it to your attention before you get too far down the road.
