National Banger drivers racing at Wimbledon this Sunday are reminded of a few issues they need to ensure are right with their cars and equipment when they arrive at the stadium.
1. Foam - it is required for high density foam (for example the foam you find in padding for drivers seats in road cars) on the steering column, B pillar AND rollcage behind the driver's head. You will not be able to race without these. If anyone has spare foam please bring it along and I am sure you will be popular! You cannot use towels / jumpers or any other non high-density item!
2. Overalls - you need to have flame retardant overalls.
3. Helmets - please make sure your helmet is not plastic - only fibre glass / carbon / tri-composite helmets are permitted, NOT polycarbonate.
Thank you!
