Believe it or not we are half way through January already and as the clock keeps ticking the racing at Wimbledon Stadium keeps coming!
This coming Sunday (26th January) four more Spedeworth formulas look to leave their mark in the capital racing around the Plough Lane Stadium under the floodlights.
After a week off the Bangers return to Wimbledon for the 10th round of the Refine Metals Track Championship and with over 20 cars supporting the series at the last round on the 12th January and with drivers booking in already this weekend’s round is setting up to see even more smash and crash action on every lap as the drivers race towards Mr Starters chequered flag.
The 2ltr Hot Rods contest their London Championship in two reverse grids heats with the top point scorers starting from the front for the London Championship race. Can #39 Rick Pannell retain the title or will the championship be snatched away?? Only time will tell!
The V8 Stock Cars roll into Wimbledon for the re-run of the R.A. Barnett Series Grand Final after the incident involving #99 Peter Scott Jnr at their last Wimbledon meeting in the first V8 race of the night caused the remaining races to be withdrawn from the nights schedule after the drivers along with Spedeworth Promoter Deane Wood decided to postpone the R.A. Barnett Series Final until a future meeting. Peter is still recovering in hospital and unfortunately will not be racing this Sunday but we know he will still be supporting the formula all the way and we can’t wait to see him putting the bumper in around one of the Spedeworth’s raceways in the future.
The Lightning Rods round off the nights four formula fest in the first round of the 2014 Polleysport/Yokohama Tyres Series. This year the series is to be run over 16 rounds in total starting and finishing at Wimbledon Stadium with the Grand Final on Sunday 26th October. Four new tyres are the prize up for grabs for the series winner in 2014 thanks to Polleysport/Yokohama.
Racing starts at 5.30pm and don’t forget rain or shine Wimbledon Stadium is fully enclosed for spectators and offers superb views from the covered grandstands indoors or out.
Come along, put your feet up and enjoy a full 12 race spectacular with Spedeworth Motorsports.
See you there!!
