This weekend will mean February is here already and if you missed any of the racing action that took place at Wimbledon Stadium through January then don’t worry because Spedeworth Motorsports are bringing 4 action packed meetings to Wimbledon Stadium through February and we start with Sunday the 2nd February with a four formula mixture of Bangers, 2ltr Stock Cars, Rookie Rods and ORCi Ministox.
The Bangers return for Round 11 of the Refine Metals Track Championship and with only 5 rounds then the series Grand Final to come the racing is hotting up between the top name drivers resulting in action packed racing but we mustn’t forget that every driver that races is chasing those points to become series champion and with a wide variety of talented drivers taking to the Wimbledon tarmac a spoiler could be waiting around the bend to mix it up and create a giant curve ball in the points standings.
The 2ltr Stock Cars return to Plough Lane after their last meeting when #167 Jimmy Morris took the Final in front of a large crowd of cheering fans. The 2ltr Stock Cars always put the bumper in and it’s not always the drivers taking the impact! Watch the fence as the drivers drift out of the bends and watch sparks fly as the posts and wires take a battering from the power of the 2ltr Stock Cars.
Growing in popularity are the Spedeworth Rookie Rods who return this Sunday and at time of writing 32 drivers already have booked in to race! The Rookie Rods have simply been superb in their support of Winter racing at Wimbledon this time around and credit must be given to all drivers who have supported the track and Spedeworth Motorsports at times where people are struggling with finances to take part in their hobby and Rookie Rods are the perfect example of ‘grass roots’ racing at Spedeworth. We look forward to seeing all drivers at Wimbledon Sunday and fingers crossed the weather is kind and we have a dry track so once more the Rookie Rod drivers can show how non-contact racing can be just as entertaining at contact racing at Wimbledon Stadium.
To round off the evening we welcome back the ORCi Ministox. The ORCi Ministox make their first appearance at Wimbledon in 2014 this Sunday and this meeting is also a joint points meeting with Spedeworth’s sister promotion Incarace Motorsport so a reminder to all ORCi Ministox drivers that if you are registered with either Spedeworth or Incarace, Sunday 2nd February at Wimbledon gives points opportunities for all!!
Racing starts at 5.30pm and don’t forget rain or shine Wimbledon Stadium is fully enclosed for spectators and offers superb views from the covered grandstands indoors or out.
Come along, put your feet up and enjoy a full 12 race spectacular with Spedeworth/Incarace Motorsports.
See you there!!
