An important message relating to the National Hot Rod World Series in 2014/15. At an NHRPA meeting held on 14th July it was decided to reduce the number of World Series qualifying rounds in England to 12 (twelve) in 2014/15.
** PLEASE NOTE ** As a result of the above decision the World Series 5 [ENGLAND] event scheduled for Northampton on Sunday 5th October is now CANCELLED meaning there will be 6 (six) World Series events between now and the end of 2014 plus a further 6 (six) World Series events before the World Final in 2015.
Key reasons for the change are as follows:
• It is hoped that fewer World Series meetings in England will reduce the overall travel/cost burden for English meetings and hence may result in a higher turnout of cars at each meeting;
• We want to encourage attendance at non-World Series championships in all nations so reducing the overall travel/cost burden for World Series events may allow more drivers to be able to support the non-World Series championships;
• Most recent feedback from majority of drivers supporting the English World Series has indicated ‘double header’ rounds are not popular – so the cancellation of Northampton on Sunday 5th October means we have no ‘double header’ rounds between down and end of 2014.
No meeting reductions are currently planned for 2014/15 World Series events in Northern Ireland, Southern Ireland or Scotland.
A separate communication will follow in due course outlining details for the World Final weekend in 2015 i.e. number of qualifiers from each nation etc.
Regards,
NHRPA
