We were very saddened to hear of the passing of former Spedeworth Starter, Promotions and Foxhall Stadium Manager Dave Hunting.
Dave joined the company in the mid sixties originally as a Start Marshal, then became full time Promotions Manager for Les Eaton before taking over the reigns at Foxhall. Dave was also one of the original Crew that tarmaced Foxhall when Speedway briefly ceased in the mid sixties and raced himself in the then F2 Stock Cars, although mainly he raced in Holland when Les Eaton was establishing links with mainland Europe.
By the 1970's Dave was heavily involved with an original passion of Cycle Speedway where he rode for several Teams as well as being a well respected East Anglian League Official and Referee.
By the late eightees and early ninetees, the Speedway interest continued with involvement with the Ipswich Witches where Dave eventually became Team Sponsor via his business Hunting Hire.
Last year, Dave returned to Foxhall for the John Earrey memorial meeting and Superstox reunion and was a keen supporter of both the 'oldskoolsuperstox' website and facebook pages.
Dave passed away on Monday and to his Family and many Friends, we would like to offer our sincere condolensces at this very sad time.
