As the Race Season literally ‘heats up’ we have seen another host of racing and Championships being contested so here is a round - up of events over the past couple of weekends racing we’ve just enjoyed.
We started with the Stock Rods Midland Championship on Saturday 14th May won at Northampton by #212 John Smith, followed by the Superstox European Championship staged at Ipswich the same night and successfully defended by #23 Matt Carberry, notching up an incredible four European Titles, from, #177 Stuart Gilchrist and #77 Nick Roots third.
The following day at Aldershot, it was the turn of the Bangers Goldrush Series Round 4 won by #400 Lee Kingsnorth, whilst at Hednesford the 2.0Ltr National Banger World Championship was staged won by #196 Joey Palmer from #425 Neil McPhilimey and #331 Jason Jackson third.
The 2.0Ltr Hot Rod Midland Championship and Lightning Rod English Championships were also staged up at Hednesford the same day with #565 Dan Smith winning the Midland from #186 George Turiccki and #75 Chris Crane, whilst the English Championship went the way of #503 Jordan Murray from #636 Lee Skoyles and #50 Ben Murray Third.
This past Sunday 22nd May, the Ninja Kart British Championship was staged at Aldershot and #7 Charlie Hardie made the long journey down from Scotland worthwhile to take the Title from Northern Irelands #974 Corey Stirling and #186 Kasey Jay Jones third for a cosmopolitan result.
The Rookie Rods Southern Championship was also staged at this meeting with #251 Lee Ribbans taking the Title from #38 Callum Marten and #77 David Burton.
