We are currently working on clarification of the 1300cc Stock Car rules for the World Championship weekend at Lochgelly on 3rd / 4th September, due to the differences in specifications between the various stock car rules.
The main differences are highlighted below along with suggested rule clarifications, or requests for comments as appropriate. Would drivers please let us know their thoughts on this and make any suggestions by contacting your promoter direct, or Deane Wood at the Spedeworth office on 01252 322920.
Suspension coil springs – suggest one coil spring per wheel with 2 ¼ inch springs allowed (Spedeworth allow one spring per corner, others allow 2).
Camber on front suspension - suggest maximum 4 inches with standard top mounts (Spedeworth allow turrets to be moved with 1 inch extension on bottom arm / others do not allow turrets to be moved but allow unlimited movement on bottom arm).
Wheels – steel only (some allow alloy).
Wheelbase – suggest run to Spedeworth rule (Spedeworth allow +/- 1 inch, others have to be standard on drivers side and +/- 1 inch on passenger side).
Suspension – suggest allow Gaz but must not change oil or any components (must remain standard). (Spedeworth allow standard Gaz suspension, others have to be standard suspension but with no Gaz shock absorbers).
Engine – suggest heads may be skimmed (Spedeworth have no limitations, others are only allowed 60 thou off the head).
Rear shock absorbers can be mounted off the steelwork but must be in the original position as manufactured.
Floors must remain in situ from the front bulkhead to the centre line of the rear axle.
Ride height must be 7 inches.
Drive shafts on FWD vehicles are free in manufacturers range, i.e. the Nova may use a Corsa / Astra, but no adaptors or washers may be used.
Rear springs must be retained by plastic ties or wire.
No limit in uprights on front bumper.
Side irons may be 40 x 40 (Spedeworth only allow 50 x 25).
