We are barely 10 weeks away now from the 19th running of the North vs South Civil War event at Hednesford Raceway.
Plans are now being put into place for the big event in January and due to rumours that we may change the format or indeed the formulas, we would like to confirm that types of car will remain that same as follows :
Light Brigade Division
30 x Micro National Bangers
Infantry Division
25 x 2000cc Mondeo National Bangers
Tanks Division
Whilst it was a bit of a struggle last year to gain sufficient support for this Division, on the basis that we do not have BWS rounds lurking close by this time around (God Bless Wimbledon!) the Tanks will remain as Unlimited National Bangers x 20.
Army Captains
We are now ‘recruiting’ some army ‘corporals’ to captain each of the divisions to assist the Army Generals to pick and run the various teams. These Captains do not necessarily have to be drivers but would ideally be linked to drivers in the division. So, we would be looking for 3 people for the Northern Army and 3 people for the Southern Army – one for each of the Divisions for each Army.
If you are interested in helping out with this, then please contact Stu Kearsley for the Northern Army or Paul Adams for the Southern Army. Stu is unable to be the Northern Army General on the day but is happy to support and advise the Captains when appointed.
Civil War 20 (January 2019)
We are already looking ahead to the 2019 event which will be celebrating 20 years of Civil War – its hard to believe it has been 20 years since it first started. We would like to consider doing something different for the 20th year and would welcome drivers feedback. Our first thought are as follows :
Light Brigade Division
30 x Micro National Bangers
Infantry Division
A change for the middle division. This will give many more drivers the chance to take part in the kind of cars they are used to racing.
Tanks Division – Option A
There will be a change for the tanks with a proposal of Big Vans with a maximum of V6 power.
Drivers views would very much be appreciated. You can email gavin@spedeworth.co.uk or Paul@incarace.co.uk or ring Gavin in the office on 01252 322 920 or Paul on 0121 357 7328
