The working partnerships scheme is now underway and we still have several companies enquiring about how the scheme works and what happens to the invested money within the scheme.
The funds which are available via the working partnerships scheme will contribute towards long term plans of buying race cars which could then be made available to drivers. For example, if a 2.0 Hot Rod driver from South Africa qualifies for a championship which is taking place within the UK then the working partnerships scheme would be able to provide the driver with a competitive car so the driver can represent themselves and their country. This would allow a World Championship to be a World Championship by allowing more international drivers to compete which has got to be better for drivers, companies and sponsors alike.
The long-term plan would be to have several cars for a variety of formulas e.g. Superstox to be available for use for a variety of circumstances.
An example could be for a celebrity appearance. In the past the Touring Car drivers raced National Hot Rods at Foxhall Heath Stadium, Ipswich. To make that event happen we relied on the good will of the National Hot Rod Drivers who offered their cars for use and of course our thanks go out to them for their support. The working partnerships scheme could be able to provide the funds to supplement a similar event in the future whilst allowing the working partnership company partners to also benefit from the advertising opportunity this sort of event could provide.
It is hoped that with the help of the working partnerships scheme the funding maybe available for a variety of different projects to provide a positive future for our sport over the coming years.
