Rob Haines took a well deserved victory in the Bangers London Championship at a very wet Wimbledon Stadium yesterday. An Incarace style draw saw 426 Mark Pope start on pole and, as a big threat to win, the other drivers decided to ensure that he did not get away with the early laps being frenetic to say the least! Rob Haines had made a good start and found himself clear of the pack and, despite the conditions, he kept his car pointing in the right direction to take the chequered flag from our guest starter Graham Alexander. 194 Steve 'Cecil' Anscombe started from near the back of the grid but managed to finish second with Keith Conlon bringing the 529 machine home in third.
Well done to all of the Banger drivers for putting on a good show in poor conditions.
