FOXHALL LAP RECORD DEEMED “SAFE” AS CYCLISTS INVADE!!
Fans of Stock Car Racing will be going not just that ‘extra mile’ for charity but over twenty-three miles in fact as they attempt to complete 100 gruelling laps of the tarmac circuit on cycles in aid of ‘Children-in-Need’.
A good number of riders are expected for the event at Foxhall Stadium, Ipswich on Saturday November 17th, ranging in age from 8 to 60, including some hardy soles in fancy dress costumes for good measure! Don't worry if you haven’t registered your interest, you can just turn up on the day! Sponsorship forms can be downloaded from the bbc children in need website, http://www.bbc.co.uk/tv/isite_assets/pudsey/fundraising/sponsor_form_2012.pdf
Commenting on the event Christer Earrey, Stadium Manager said: “It’s for a great charity and we hope to be able to raise a substantial amount of money for it. And as for the lap record, if any cyclist actually manages to beat the current time of 15.00 we could be facing another ‘Tour de France-esq enquiry!” he laughed.
The stadium will be open and the public are welcome to watch the event for free. Hot food and drinks will be available and there is Banger Team Racing in the evening for anybody wishing to make it a great day out.
