From 2013, there is a minimum age for new drivers into the Historic Stock Car formula. This is to try and keep the formula competing within the spirit intended.
Drivers wishing to licence for the Historic Stock Cars or race on a day licence in 2013 must fulfill at least one of the following criteria:
1. Be aged 35 or over as at 1st January 2013.
2. Have held a 2012 Historic Stock Car licence with Spedeworth and have raced at least once in the period 29th July 2012 to 31st December 2012.
For any 2012 licenced drivers who do not fulfill either of the above criteria, they need to race either at Ipswich on 2nd December or Wimbledon on 26th December to remain qualified to compete in the formula.
Moving forward into 2013, drivers under the age of 35 who qualify must keep their qualification intact by racing at least once every 6 months - obviously if drivers are banned or genuinely injured then this may be waived.
